The Say Hey Kid!
My mother worked for Anheuser-Busch doing public relations when I was kid in St. Louis. Anheuser-Busch owns the Cardinals so that means she did publicity for them too (BTW she hated baseball). Any way one day I got to sit in the dugout and the guest dugout was being renovated so both teams were in one dugout. I was so nervous, all my heroes were there Curt Simmons, Carl Sawatski, Stan Musial, Curt Flood and Julian Javier but then it happened.
We were playing SF and in walked Willie Mays, he sat down next to me, touched my arm and said (no joke) "hey kid"! I nearly died, I might have been a Cardinals fan but WILLIE MAYS... I have meet "more famous people" in my life but nothing will ever seem so exciting.

Wait just a minute... Willy Mays over Stan Musial? No wonder you don't live in St. Louis anymore. They probably rode you out of town on a rail. :-)
And your mother lived in St. Louis and didn't like baseball? How did she survive? That whole town eats and breathes the game.
